Welcome to Term 4

Welcome back to our final term of 2026. Term 4 is always an exciting time in the school year, with many opportunities for learning, celebration and achievement as we work towards a successful finish to the year.

SunSmart Reminder

As the warmer weather returns, a reminder that our SunSmart policy is now in effect. Students are required to wear a SunSmart hat when outdoors during recess, lunch and other outdoor activities.

Attendance

With a number of camps and excursions taking place throughout Term 4, we ask families to support regular attendance when students are not participating in these events. This includes students not attending the Year 10 Surf Camp in Week 2, as classes will continue to operate as normal at school.

Year 12 End of Year Celebrations

A special congratulations goes to our Year 12 students, who are entering their final weeks of classes before beginning the next stage of their journey beyond secondary school. We wish them all the very best as they prepare for their upcoming assessments and future pathways.

End of Formal Classes: Formalclasses for Year 12s conclude on Monday 19 October (Week 3, Term 4) at the end of Period 4. Unit 3&4 classes will continue to run until the day of the subject's exam; we strongly encourage students to continue attending classes until the subject’s exam.

Year 12 Farewell Assembly: Will be held on Monday 19th October at 2:30pm at the Mount Beauty Community Centre. Parents and Families of Year 12s are invited to attend this annual tradition led by our Year 12 cohort! All students in year 7-11 attend this assembly to celebrate the Class of 2026.

Building Positive Learning Environments

As we begin the term, teachers will revisit our Classroom Engagement Plans and the shared expectations surrounding our school values of Respect, Kindness and Confidence that help create positive, productive learning environments. These conversations provide an important opportunity for students to reflect on the behaviours and habits that support success, both inside and outside the classroom. I was proud to see the positive learning, engagement and respect demonstrated by students across the school in Term 3, and expect this to continue and strengthen until the end of the year.

Cohort Goals

Last term, each year level developed cohort goals based on student feedback and staff input. These goals will continue to guide students throughout Term 4:

Year 7

We manage our behaviour and noise respectfully, listen and follow instructions the first time and stay focused on learning

Year 8

We treat each other kindly, be prepared for learning, take responsibility for our behaviour, and stay focused.

Year 9

Show respect in all interactions and be actively involved in your learning.

Year 10

Value others’ contributions and approach every task with genuine effort.

Year 11

Show maturity through punctuality, strong work habits, and growing independence.

Year 12

Take responsibility, stay accountable, and finish strong.
