Principal's News

Dear Families,

As we continue through Lent in Week 5 of Term 1, we are reminded to slow down a little. We still have a strong focus on Human Dignity across the school at the moment, may we remember that we are all special and we are all made in God’s love. Let’s encourage our children to show that love in the way they speak, include and care for others each day.

Loving God,

Help us to slow down and remember that we are all special, created in Your image and held in Your love. Teach us to treat one another with kindness and dignity as we walk this Lenten journey together.

Amen.

FIRE Carrier Commissioning Assembly

Our FIRE Carrier Commissioning Assembly is this Friday 27th February at 2:20pm (10 minutes earlier than normal assembly time). Rachel Timperley (our Indigenous Education Leader) will lead a commissioning ceremony for our FIRE Carriers. FIRE stands for Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education. It encourages respect, understanding and meaningful action within our school communities. At St John’s, our FIRE Carriers play an important role in helping us grow in awareness and commitment to reconciliation. We are proud of the students who take on this responsibility and we look forward to formally commissioning them as leaders.

This FIRE Carrier Commissioning Assembly will also coincide with the opening of our NEW Indigenous Garden on our back oval which is slowly coming together. Our FIRE Carrier students will be planting out this space on Wednesday this week!!! Check out the photos below...
