A Closer Look at the Final Preparations
The buzz is building as our athletes enter the final stages of preparation for the QGSSSA Track and Field Championships. Weeks of training, fine-tuning skills, and sharpening techniques is coming together just in time for the big day.
From sprints and hurdles to throws and jumps, every event has demanded focus and discipline. Relay teams, in particular, have been perfecting baton exchanges, knowing that precision and teamwork can make all the difference.
Friday night Lead-Up Meets have added healthy competition and valuable experience, giving our team the chance to push limits and test themselves against the best.
Now, with championship day almost here, our athletes are ready to showcase their hard work. We invite our community, parents, caregivers, and students to join us at QSAC and cheer them on.
Let’s show the true spirit of Clayfield College. Go CC!
As part of Clayfield College’s ongoing commitment to cultivating a strong sense of community and school spirit, it is an expectation that all secondary students attend and support this event.
The QGSSSA Track and Field Championships will be held on Thursday 18 September at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC), Nathan.
To facilitate transportation, the College will provide buses departing from Bayview Terrace at 8:40am, with an anticipated return to the College at approximately 3:00pm. All student spectators are required to travel via the school-provided transport, as this day is considered part of the normal school timetable.
Please see the STUDENT SPECTATOR LETTER below.
The College sincerely thanks all students in advance for their attendance and support of both the QGSSSA Track and Field team and the broader College community. Your commitment, encouragement, and enthusiasm play a vital role in upholding the spirit and traditions of Clayfield College.
Final Round
This Saturday, Clayfield College meets Brisbane Girls Grammar School in the last round of Hockey, Netball, Tennis, and Volleyball for the QGSSSA Winter season. It’s the final chance for our teams to step out in their colours, play with pride, and celebrate the effort, improvement, and resilience they’ve shown throughout the term.
Behind every team is a network of support, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated coaches and coordinators. Your leadership, encouragement, and commitment to our programs have guided our athletes and allowed them to shine. We are deeply grateful for the time, energy, and passion you invest in Clayfield Sport.
As we close out the Winter season, let’s acknowledge not only the results on the scoreboard but also the friendships built, the lessons learned, and the spirit displayed each week. We look forward to seeing the teams finish strongly and with the same determination that has carried them all season.
