International Taekwondo Champion!
Earlier this year Grade 6 student, Sienna, competed in two major International Taekwondo Championships. The contests were:
o 17th CK Classic (Malaysia)
o 18th World Taekwondo Culture Expo (South Korea)
The Korea contest is particularly newsworthy as that particular location was selected as South Korea's candidate to bid for the 2036 Summer Olympics.
Each of the two international contests attracted over 3500 participants who represented 30+ countries across all continents.
Sienna won a total of 2 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronze, while competing in combat sparring contests and taekwondo black belt pattern (poomsae) competitions. Each contest was conducted in front of a panel of elite judges and in front of large crowds including press.
Sienna represented Australia under the banner of the Joon No Taekwondo club, where she is taught by Grandmaster Joon No (9th Dan Black belt – Australia’s highest ranked instructor).
To achieve this result, Sienna’s training commitment was up to 19 hours per week (5 days per week). Well done on your outstanding achievement, Sienna!
