Welcome Back

Term 2 is well underway and it is great to see the students with their heads down working hard to make the most of every minute in the classroom. We have a lot happening this term and we look forward to lots of learning and engagement here at St Anne's.

We have a new leader of the Church - Pope Leo!

The election of a new Pope is always a significant and very exciting event for the Catholic Church. Throughout his time as a priest, bishop, and cardinal, Pope Leo has demonstrated notable compassion through his missionary work with individuals from all levels of society, especially those in need. As a leader, he is known for his humility and wisdom, complemented by a warm and approachable demeanour. Pope Leo is multilingual and recognised for his global perspective. It is anticipated that he will effectively engage with the Church’s diverse, international community and influence progressive and positive change. I am confident that his leadership style, which is grounded in compassion and unity, will foster respect and support not only within the Catholic Church but also among people of various cultures and faiths worldwide.

Enrolments

Enrolments are now open for Foundation and Year 7 students. We are looking forward to interviewing prospective students in the coming weeks as we begin to offer first round enrolment places.

Happy Mother's Day

It was wonderful to see so many of our beautiful mothers, grandmothers and mother figures at our morning tea today. We hope you enjoyed the morning and the gifts that students have been making at school! I hope you are all spoilt this Mother's Day - you deserve it!

FIRE Carriers Commissioning

Our annual FIRE Carriers Commissioning took place last week. FIRE stands for Friends Igniting Reconciliation Education and signifies the commitment that St Anne's has for Reconciliation and Indigenous Education. Our FIRE Carriers lead the way in this area and will play an active role in future events and activities.

Year 5/6 Cross Country

Congratulations to the Year 5/6 students who recently took part in the interschool Cross Country. I was thrilled to hear of the exemplary behaviour and sportsmanship that was displayed by St Anne's students.

GMDSSA Intermediate and Senior Winter Sports

We also had several students in Years 9-12 compete in a variety of sports at the GMDSSA sports. Congratulations to those who represented St Anne's College in Clay Target, Netball, Soccer and Basketball.

Dental Van Visits St Anne's College

The Victorian Mobile Dental Health made a visit to St Anne's College this week. This service provides professional dental care directly at schools across Victoria, offering a convenient and stress-free experience for children, parents and staff. Pictured are a couple of our younger students attending their session this morning. Smiles all round!
