Music and Concert Band
The VUSC Honours Concert Band is competing at the Australian Band Championships on Easter Saturday 19th April at Methodist Ladies College in Kew:
8.20am Meet at VUSC Deer Park – Bus to Venue
Venue: Methodist Ladies College (207 Barkers Rd, Kew VIC 3101)
10.30am Pre-Performance, getting ready
11.15am Onstage Time: Performance, pack up and then results
12 noon Lunch (bring money) then trade stalls listen to other ensembles
Leave Venue 1.15pm
Arrive School 2.30pm
The Band brings together the best 50 woodwind, brass and percussion players from Year 8 to 12. The students have been rehearsing every Tuesday from 7.55am and will have further rehearsals during the school holidays to prepare their four works for the competition - a test piece, Major Work, March and Hymn. This is a wonderful opportunity for our most dedicated students to work towards an exciting and challenging goal and to start Term 2 playing at a very high level.

Music Camp 16th - 18th June
Parents and carers should now be able to access the Music Camp event on Compass to provide consent and payment.
This annual camp is a fun and engaging trip away in a beautiful rural setting for the students who will be rehearsing for major events on the calendar including the Annual School Concert, Junior School Soiree and Victorian School Music Festival.

Extracurricular Music Opportunities at VUSC
We have many wonderful opportunities for students to take part in extracurricular music ensembles at VUSC. We encourage students who wish to sing in one of the choirs or play guitar or drums in one of the Jazz or Rock Bands to please get in touch with Mr Breen.
