On Wednesday the 19th of November, Thornbury Primary School hosted the School Fun Run, in which the kids ran laps of Henderson Park over the road while volunteers sprayed them with coloured dye and water.
Pre-run the students at the school could ask for sponsors to donate money for them to earn lots of prizes like a lava lamp or a dancing robot. Some of the money from sponsors is given to the school.
The preps, 1s, 5s and 6s started running at 2:30 and half an hour later the rest of the school started running while the 5/6s and the prep 1s went back to school for the end of the day. The 5/6s then played under the shade sail until the bell.
Here’s what some year 5 and 6 students had to say!
“It was colourful and it was fun” - Thorin, 5/6A
“Why don't we go and run for some fun, sure, that's it!” - Bilal, 5/6B
“I finally became green!” - Luca, 5/6C
“The fun run was nippy” - Forest, 5/6A
