Defence Club

Welcome Back to Term 2!

Welcome back, everyone! We hope you had a relaxing Easter break and are feeling refreshed and ready for a busy and exciting Term 2.

This term, Defence Club will continue to run during second break on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Tuesdays will focus on arts and crafts, games, and social activities.

Thursdays will once again be a treat day, with food provided for our Defence students.

A big thank you to the College Café, who will be generously baking slices and cakes for our students each week. If your child has any dietary requirements, please let me know so we can make sure everyone is catered for.

We look forward to another great term

Easter Parade Spotlight

A big shout-out to one of our wonderful Defence students, Kaylee, whose Easter Parade hairstyle stole the show!

Kaylee’s mum did an incredible job creating a masterpiece — styling Kaylee’s hair to look just like an Easter basket! It was simply too cute not to share and brought plenty of smiles on the day.

Well done, Kaylee (and Mum) for such a creative and festive

ANZAC Day Ceremonies

We hope everyone enjoyed a restful long weekend. A big thank you to those who attended our school ANZAC Day ceremony — it was wonderful to see such a strong turnout. We also hope you enjoyed the morning tea that followed.

Our College Captains, Mandessah and Jacob, spoke beautifully during the service, showing great respect and leadership. We were also honoured to welcome our guest speaker, Mayor John Dougall, who served in the Australian Defence Force for 33 years. John shared his valuable knowledge and experience with our students and spoke about the importance of ANZAC Day and why we continue to honour both our current serving members and veterans. His words were truly inspiring and well received by all.

Mandessah and Jacob also represented our school with pride at the town’s ANZAC Day ceremony, where they again spoke with great confidence and sincerity.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making these ceremonies so special.

Thank you to the School of Armour

I would like to make a special mention and offer my sincere thanks to the Puckapunyal School of Armour for supplying the catafalque party for our recent event. The professionalism and interaction shown towards the students of Seymour College was truly exceptional.

A heartfelt thank you also to CPL Swingler for her outstanding support and flexibility in working closely with the college to meet our needs. Your efforts went above and beyond, and we are truly grateful.

Supporting Defence Families

If your family circumstances have recently changed, such as new postings or field, please remember to update me so I can provide the necessary support for your child.

Whether your child is experiencing relationship or friendship issues at school, or if there are any wellbeing concerns, I am more than happy to liaise with your child’s coordinators and ensure they receive the best assistance possible.

Your child’s wellbeing is our priority, and we are here to help in any way we can.
