Principal's Report

I am pleased to share that our refreshed Pioneer Village School Values Program will officially launch in Semester 2. This update builds on the strong work already happening through our student‑led Values Assemblies this term.

Over the past semester, our Student Captains have shown impressive confidence and leadership—introducing values, sharing examples, and guiding assemblies. Their efforts have set a positive tone for the next phase of our whole‑school approach, which now aligns closely with our school factions.

What’s Changing in Term 3

• Fortnightly Values Focus from Term 3, each value will run on a fortnightly cycle. This gives students more time to explore, practise, and apply each value in meaningful ways across classrooms, playgrounds, specialist lessons, and excursions.
• Students will be receiving VIP Tokens when they demonstrate our school values. Tokens go into their Faction Collection Boxes outside Kookaburra Corner, contributing to their faction’s running tally.
• Faction Tally & Prize drawn every two weeks, Faction Captains will count tokens and share the standings at our Monday Values Assemblies. One student from each faction will also be drawn to select a prize.
• Values certificates will now be presented at whole‑school assemblies, celebrating students who consistently or significantly demonstrate our values.
• End‑of‑Term Celebration; the Values Shield will be awarded to the faction with the highest total, with a special reward organised for the winning team.
• “Our Values, Our Voice” Project Student leaders are working with staff to create student‑friendly flow charts and short videos that will be shared on our school website later this year.

This refreshed program strengthens our shared culture, celebrates positive behaviour, and amplifies student voice and leadership. This update is provided to help families understand how the program will work moving forward and how you can support these positive changes.

Student Buddy Day Parent meetings

Thank you to all families who attended our recent Student Buddy Day and parent‑teachermeetings; your partnership and engagement continue to strengthen our school community. I would also like to acknowledge and thank our dedicated staff for their support in coordinating the processes throughout the day. Students worked in mixed groups with our specialist teachers and produced some truly impressive artwork that will be showcased at the upcoming STEAM exhibition.
