The Armidale Catholic Schools Diocesan Athletics Carnival was held in Tamworth on Tuesday 12 August 2025. The carnival involves a representation of schools and students across the Armidale Diocese and is the biggest pathway event of the year. St Joseph's Barraba students represented our school in several different track and field events showing excellent sportsmanship and giving their all to each event they went in. We couldn't be prouder of our students for the efforts they put in on the day.
Athletes who placed in the top 2 positions in their events have now qualified to move on to the next level of competition, the Polding Athletics Carnival at the Hunter Sports Centre in Glendale.
A big congratulations to two of our athletes who made it to the next level.
Dexter Urquhart for the 100m and Angus Johnston for High Jump. A super effort boys - best of luck at Polding!
A huge thank you also goes out to the teachers, volunteers, and parents who made the day such a success!
This week was our first week of gymnastics. We would like to thank the Sporting Schools Funding for providing this opportunity to our students. We are lucky enough to have teachers from PCYC in Tamworth coming out for the next 3 weeks. Our students are learning lots of circus moves to help out with their performance which is taking place at the end of term.

Cheers
