Principals' Message

Mrs Dominica Bearman

Dear St Joseph's Parents and Carers,

Welcome to our Week 4 newsletter,

Brain Olympia

On Monday, we had a team taking part in the Armidale Catholic Schools Brain Olympia competition. This event is an initiative that began at St Francis Xavier's, Narrabri in 1996 and offers our students the chance to participate in a variety of academic challenges against their peers from other schools.

The challenges include tackling a range of general knowledge questions and mathematical problems, engaging in public speaking, and performing a drama presentation on a chosen topic. Our team came first in the small school and second overall. This means that progress to the next stage on the 27th August. A big thank you to Mrs McDouall and Mrs Abell for organising this event for our students.

3 Way Learning Conferences

We want to extend a huge thank you to all our parents and carers who took the time to attend our recent Parent/Teacher conferences. Your engagement and partnership are invaluable to your child's learning journey and we truly appreciate you making the effort to connect with our teachers. These discussions are so important for celebrating successes and identifying areas where we can all work together to support student growth.

If you haven't already, we strongly encourage you to share your child's Semester OneReport with them. This is a fantastic opportunity to discuss their achievements, reflect on their progress and set goals for the coming Semester. Celebrating their hard work and discussing their learning journey together can be incredibly motivating for students.

Thanks again for your ongoing support – it makes a real difference!

A big Congratulations

We extend our warm congratulations to Mrs Bindy Abell on her appointment as the Sport Coordinator for the Armidale Catholic Schools Office for the next 12 months. This is a wonderful opportunity for Bindy to share her skills, experience, and passion for sport with schools across our diocese.

During this time, we are pleased to welcome Mrs Rachel Caskey as the Sport Coordinator for our school community. Rachel brings a wealth of energy and dedication to the role, and we look forward to the exciting sporting opportunities she will help provide for our students.

We wish Bindy every success in her new role and thank Rachel for stepping into this position to continue fostering a strong sporting culture in our school.
