Interschool Snowsports News

Congratulations to all members of the Toorak Primary School Snowsports Team on a fantastic week of racing at the Victorian Interschools Snowsport Championships. The team enjoyed great weather and, most importantly, everyone had a lot of fun throughout the competition.

Highlights included Jack Milne winning bronze in Division 4 Ski Cross to qualify for Nationals, Missy McIntosh qualifying for Nationals in Division 4 Giant Slalom and Ski Cross, and Kit McIntosh qualifying for Nationals in Division 5 Giant Slalom.

The 2026 Subaru Australian Interschools Snowsport Championships will be held in Perisher from Tuesday, 1 September to Sunday, 6 September. We congratulate every team member for their commitment, teamwork and great spirit, and wish Jack, Missy and Kit every success as they represent Toorak Primary on the national stage.

Grade 5/6 Students Hit the Slopes!

Our 2026 Ski Camp at Mt Buller from 5th to 7th August was a fantastic few days on the snow! For many students, it was their first time seeing snow, making it even more exciting to watch them progress from first turns to confidently skiing down Bourke St and even tackling the ABOM by the end of the trip. Our more experienced skiers also loved the opportunity to ski with their friends and enjoy the mountain together.

Off the slopes, students enjoyed delicious daily meals at The Whitt Restaurant, a fun trivia night, a snow creature-making competition and night walks through the snow. It was a great mix of skiing, adventure and plenty of time spent together, with lots of new skills and memories made along the way.

District Athletics Results

Despite the rainy weather, the Southport District Athletics Carnival was a great success. 38 students from Grade 3 to 6 represented Toorak Primary School proudly. Congratulations to everyone who competed with such determination and school spirit!  A special mention to Lucy, Nini, Leopold, Sammy, Xavier, Gael, Royce, Andreas, Ayub and Anton, who have qualified for the next round of competition. We are incredibly proud of all our athletes and wish our qualifiers the very best as they progress to the next stage in October.

Bullying No Way!

This week is Bullying No Way: National week of action (17 to 21 August 2026). At Toorak Primary School we believe that small acts have big impacts and ensure that bullying has no place. Arthur Chen joins the Australian Boys Choir

Congratulations to Arthur Chen who was selected via audition for The Australian Boys Choir, and has now successfully completed the six-month Probationer program AND been officially admitted to the formal training program of Australian Boys Choral Institute as a ‘Tyro’ Singer. 

This is a significant achievement and reflects Arthur's ongoing hard work and commitment to the program.

Keepsake Teatowel- Great gift Idea!

Earlier this year, TPS students created a small self-portrait, which has been combined to produce a special keepsake 100% cotton tea towel. These unique tea towels make a wonderful Christmas gift for family and friends. Tea towels are available for purchase for $20 each via QKR or on the evening of the Art Show. Orders can be collected on Thursday 10 September. All proceeds go towards the purchase of a kiln.
