A message from our Principal - Mr Brian
Dear School Community,
It is hard to believe that we are already approaching the end of Week 8 of Term 3. The term continues to move quickly, and it has been wonderful to see students engaging enthusiastically in their learning while also embracing the many special events and opportunities that make our school such a vibrant community.
Last Friday, our annual Book Week Dress-Up Parade brought plenty of excitement and colour to St Brendan's. The creativity and effort that went into the costumes was, as always, incredibly impressive.
A special shout-out goes to Ethan and his family for the outstanding Optimus Prime Transformer costume, which was certainly a crowd favourite.
Book Week is always a highlight on our school calendar, and I would like to thank our amazing parents who go above and beyond to help prepare costumes and make the day so special for their children. I would also like to acknowledge our staff, who enthusiastically embraced the spirit of the occasion and helped create such a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for our students.
A massive thank you also goes to Mrs Heather Woodman and Mrs Michelle Black for organising the wonderful Book Week activities that took place in the library throughout the week. Our library is always buzzing with activity before school, providing students with fantastic opportunities to read, learn and connect with others. If you haven't had the chance to experience the wonderful atmosphere of our library before school, I encourage you not to wait until Book Week 2027 to see the amazing things that happen there each morning.
On Tuesday morning this week, we were delighted to welcome dads, grandfathers and many special father figures to our school for our Father's Day Celebration. It was fantastic to see so many families joining us on the oval and courts before school, enjoying a range of activities and spending quality time together before the school day began.
A highlight of the morning was our Year 2 students leading us in a special prayer to acknowledge and celebrate the important role that fathers and father figures play in our lives. Thank you to the students and staff of Year 2 Nicholson, Weber and Drummond for preparing and presenting such a meaningful prayer. It was a wonderful way to recognise the care, support and love that these special people provide for our children each and every day.
Looking ahead, our Annual Athletics Carnival is scheduled for tomorrow. We are hopeful that the weather cooperates and allows us to enjoy a full day of participation, competition and school spirit. Events such as these provide students with wonderful opportunities to challenge themselves, demonstrate perseverance and celebrate the success of others.

2026 School Engagement Survey
On Monday, a random selection of 80 families from our school community received an email invitation to participate in the 2026 Family School Engagement Survey. This is the maximum number of family participants permitted for the survey.
This week, our students in Years 4-6 and all staff members are also participating in the 2026 Student and Staff School Engagement Surveys, providing valuable feedback about their experiences at school.
If your family received an invitation, we strongly encourage you to take the time to complete the survey. Your feedback provides important insights that help shape the strategic direction of our school and inform future improvement priorities. We genuinely value the perspectives, experiences and suggestions of our families.
Complete the Survey and Go Into the Draw to Win!
As a thank you for participating, families who complete the survey will have the opportunity to win a $100 Coles/Myer Gift Card.
As survey responses are anonymous, families are asked to take a screenshot of the final survey completion screen once they have submitted their survey. This screenshot will serve as their entry into the prize draw.

Summer Uniform
With the warmer weather beginning to arrive, students may now start transitioning into their summer uniform. We ask families to ensure that students continue to wear the school uniform correctly and take pride in their presentation as they make the seasonal change.
This is also a timely reminder to please check that all jumpers, jackets and tracksuit pants are clearly named. At this time of year, we often see an increase in uniform items left on the oval and around the school grounds, with many finding their way to the lost property area. Having clothing clearly labelled makes it much easier for lost items to be returned to their owners.
As we look ahead to Term 4, now is also a great opportunity to locate and check school hats. With sunnier days just around the corner, ensuring hats are ready to go will help students be prepared for outdoor learning and play from the beginning of next term.
