Principal's Message

Mr Ben Morgan | Principal

Dear Families,

It was a pleasure to see our students participate in the STCPSSA (Southern Tasmanian Catholic Primary Schools Sports Association) Swimming Carnival today at the Aquatic Centre. Our staff members were so impressed with the attitudes and efforts of the 25 students who participated. It was clear to see that our students were proud of their efforts, regardless of their place in the race. The best part, for me personally, was seeing students giving each other encouragement or a friendly high five when they finished the race.

As we journey through the season of Lent, we are reminded that this is a special time in the calendar for reflection, prayer and renewal. Lent is not just about ‘giving up’ something. It is about giving more. More kindness, more patience, more gratitude and more forgiveness. We are proud to say that our students have definitely been giving more!

Staffing Update

This week we have welcomed two new TAs to the team. Alex Bennett and Bridie Jones. Both Alex and Bridie come to us with prior TA experience in other Catholic schools. Alex is working in Grade 4 and Bridie is working with our Grade 5 students.

Lauren Hall has been announced as our Acting Principal for Term 2 and 3 while I take some long service leave. Lauren has an excellent understanding of our teaching and learning programs, our strategic plan and our long-term projects such as our new sensory room and intervention spaces. Recruitment processes are underway for an Acting Deputy Principal. We will share this news as soon as the position is filled.

Have a great weekend.

Ben Morgan
