Kimochi Parent Information Session
Kimochis are off and running here at St Helena’s, and we are sure you have already heard plenty about our Kimochi friends from your child. We are excited to offer parents and caregivers a one-hour information session to learn more about the Kimochis program and how it can support your child’s social and emotional development.
Kimochi means “feelings” in Japanese, and the curriculum is based on research that tells us that a strong social-emotional learning foundation is essential to academic and life success.
This session is a wonderful opportunity for parents and caregivers to understand the importance of social emotional learning and discover simple ways to build on the skills your child is developing at school.
The session will explore:
How children learn to recognise and name emotions
Ways Kimochis support emotional regulation and healthy relationships
Practical strategies families can use at home
How home and school can work together to support wellbeing
