Pre-Primary Lorikeets and Possums

We have settled back into Term 2 beautifully and loved reconnecting with all of our friends. We have been enjoying exploring our new dramatic play areas; our hairdressing salon and campsite. These spaces give us wonderful opportunities to build our language skills, practise cooperation, develop our imaginations and learn to problem solve together through play.

Maths

In Maths we are exploring numbers beyond 10, practising writing numerals in different ways, creating collections and working with one more and one less. We are always revising what we have already learnt in Term One and are using this knowledge to get competitive and enjoy maths games.

HASS/ Inquiry

Our inquiry focus this term is based around looking at memories from the past. We have started by looking at some memories from our teacher’s past. We are excited to learn more about our teachers and find out what special memories our families can share with us too.

Year 3 Magpies and Numbats

We have had a wonderful start to Term 2 in Year 3. Students have settled back into routines with confidence and enthusiasm. Our classroom has been buzzing with energy as we dive into new learning experiences and build on the skills we developed in Term 1.

In Religious Education, we explored the idea of connection by using string to show how we are all linked to one another through respect, shared interests and our shared faith. Last term we also prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and the students participated in a meaningful and reflective Reconciliation Retreat. They showed maturity and thoughtfulness as they learned about forgiveness, making good choices and strengthening their relationship with God.

In Maths, we have been learning a range of strategies to help us solve addition and subtraction problems and fractions. Students have been practising jump strategies, split strategies and using number lines to show their thinking. They are becoming more confident in choosing the strategy that works best for them.

In HASS, we learned about Australia Day and explored how it can be both a celebration and a commemoration. Students discussed different perspectives, reflected on the history behind the day and considered why people may feel differently about it. This learning helped us build empathy, understanding and respect for the diverse experiences within our community.

A highlight of this term so far has been our Colour Run fundraiser. The students absolutely loved the excitement, the bright colours and the chance to get active with their friends. It was wonderful to see everyone participating with huge smiles and plenty of energy.
