Dear Parents and Caregivers
Term 2 - Here We Come!
As we return to school in the Easter season, we welcome our school community back, renewed in faith, hope, and the joy of Jesus' Resurrection. We have an exciting term ahead, filled with rich teaching and learning opportunities, as well as a range of events designed to engage and inspire our students throughout their learning journey. Our Tuesday morning running training will continue this term, as we prepare for our Cross Country event later in Term 2. In addition, our School Choir will continue to rehearse each Wednesday afternoon, bringing students together through music and performance.
We thank our families for their ongoing support in upholding the policies, guidelines, and expectations of St Helena’s Catholic Primary School. Your commitment to also ensuring students are punctual, well prepared, and attending school regularly is greatly appreciated. We also value your participation in parent information sessions, interviews, and school events, which strengthens our home‑school partnership. Your continued involvement truly reflects the partnership you entered into when enrolling your child/ren at St Helena’s Catholic Primary School, and we are grateful for your support.
First Reconciliation
Our Year 3 students and all the students in our Parish are excited for their First Reconciliation this evening. Keep them all in your prayers, as they experience this special Sacrament for the first time.
Migrant Jubilee Cross
It was a privilege to accompany some of our student leaders - Hanna, Peter and Liam, along with Miss Myles, to Mercy College for a special liturgy celebrating the Migrant Jubilee Cross, which is currently journeying through Western Australia. The Migrant Jubilee Cross symbolises the faith, gifts, contributions and resilience that migrant communities bring to the Church and the wider community. Further information about the Cross is shared in the Religious Education and Faith Life section of our newsletter.
Interschool Swimming Team
We wish our Interschool Swimming Team all the very best as they head to HBF Stadium on Friday. We thank Mr McCormack, Miss Myles, and Mrs Johnson for their dedication in supervising and preparing the students over the past few weeks. Thank you also to our parents and caregivers for your support in ensuring students attended training sessions. Your commitment has been appreciated in helping our swimmers prepare for this event. We would also like to thank Annaliah and Karrali Palm who have assisted at training, and will be at the carnival assisting on Friday too!
Colour Run Success
A huge thank you to our P&F committee for coordinating the school Colour Run last Friday, and to everyone who assisted in the lead‑up to and on the day. The event was a tremendous success and a wonderful celebration filled with colour, energy, and fun for all involved. We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to support the Colour Run. The funds raised will be used directly to purchase resources that will benefit our students throughout the year at St Helena’s Catholic Primary School. Your generosity and support are truly appreciated.
P&F Meeting - Come Along!
We invite all families to join us for our upcoming P&F Meeting on Monday 4 May at 5:00pm in the school Library. This is a wonderful opportunity to contribute ideas and be involved in shaping the events and initiatives planned at St Helena’s Catholic Primary School for the remainder of the year. We encourage you to come along and show your support for our P&F committee and one another, as we work together in the best interests of all our students.
Mother's Day
To all our Mums and Mother figures at St Helena's. Our students and staff are looking forward to celebrating you at our SHCPS Mother's Day Breakfast and Liturgy on Friday 8 May. Wishing all our Mums a very Happy Mother's Day and prayers and blessings to the Mums looking over us in heaven too.

Very exciting news for Miss Bederson on her recent engagement. Congratulations Kaylene and Charlie. Very exciting times ahead for you both!
An exciting delivery to Mrs Parker in the holidays, with the arrival of baby Margot. Congratulations Jess and Adam on the birth of your new baby girl!
Let's be Grateful!
At St Helena’s Catholic Primary School, we are incredibly grateful for our wonderful P&F committee who are doing great things. Coordinating last week's sausage sizzle and this year’s Colour Run last Friday was much appreciated!
We also extend our gratefulness to the many parent helpers who assisted at the sausage sizzle and Colour Run. It was fantastic to see such strong parent involvement and community spirit. This generous support is what truly strengthens our St Helena’s school community, and we are most appreciative of everyone’s contribution.
At St Helena's, we are a Christ-centred and a child-focused community,
always striving to do Something Beautiful for God.
Peace & Happy Days!
