PROJECT COMPASSION
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all families for your wonderful support throughout the Season of Lent. Your generosity and support of our fundraising efforts, including our Class Project Compassion Stalls, the Bell Fundraiser and participation in the Big Walk for Water, have made a meaningful difference. Thank you also for taking the time to send in donation boxes during Lent.
During the Lenten period, St Helena’s proudly raised an incredible $1,137.90 for Project Compassion. This achievement is a true testament to the strong sense of community at St Helena’s, reflecting the generosity, collaboration, and commitment of our families and the dedication of our students in supporting and helping to plan these meaningful events.
MIGRANT JUBILEE CROSS
This morning, Hana, Liam and Peter represented St Helena’s at Mercy College for a liturgy honouring the Migrant Jubilee Cross.
The Migrant Jubilee Cross stands as a powerful symbol of the faith, gifts, contributions and resilience that migrant communities bring to the Church and to Australian society. Crafted from Australian timber and set on a boat‑shaped base, the Cross holds relics of the Holy Family from the manger, veil and cloak (on loan from the Order of the Discalced Augustinians) as well as a relic of Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop, gifted by the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.
Throughout this year, the Migrant Jubilee Cross has been travelling across Australia, visiting dioceses, parishes and schools as a sign of unity and shared faith.
