Book Week

Book Week 2026 will be celebrated from Saturday, 22 August to Friday, 28 August, with the theme “Symphony of Stories.”

The highlight of the week is the annual “Book Parade”. This will take place on Friday 28th August at 9.15am.  Get your creativity happening and we look forward to some amazing costumes on display.

Book Week is an annual celebration organised by the Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) to promote children’s literature and foster a love of reading among young readers.

The 2026 theme, “Symphony of Stories,” highlights the diversity of stories and the many ways they inspire, entertain, and bring people together. The official illustrator for this year is Briony Stewart, known for her award-winning work, who has created a vibrant collection of characters representing different stories.

Book Week provides an opportunity to celebrate Australian literature, encourage imagination, and connect children with the joy of books. We will use the week to highlight shortlisted books from the Children’s Book Council of Australia to make it a whole school celebration of storytelling.
