Learning and Teaching

As we come to the end of another fantastic term, it is wonderful to reflect on the many learning experiences, achievements and celebrations that have filled our classrooms. It has been a busy and rewarding term, with our students embracing every opportunity to learn, grow and shine.

Our Prep to Year 2 students have had an action-packed term! A highlight was their exciting excursion to Sovereign Hill, where they stepped back in time and brought their history learning to life. They also enjoyed a delightful Teddy Bear Picnic, creating special memories with friends, while our Prep/Year 1 Prayer Gathering and Year 1/2 Class Mass provided meaningful opportunities to come together in faith. In the classroom, students have worked incredibly hard learning new letters and sounds, growing as confident readers and producing some truly amazing writing pieces. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, perseverance and the wonderful progress they have made this term.

Our Years 3–4 students have embraced every opportunity to challenge themselves. Their visit to Polly Woodside provided a wonderful hands-on learning experience, while their creative diorama projects showcased both imagination and a deep understanding of their learning. Students thoroughly enjoyed diving into their novel studies, developing thoughtful discussions and a love of reading. They also impressed us with their outstanding writing and participated reverently in their class Masses, strengthening our sense of community and faith.

The Years 5–6 students have had an exceptional term filled with exciting opportunities and achievements. Their excursion to Sovereign Hill was a memorable highlight, complementing their classroom learning. They enthusiastically represented our school across countless sporting events, demonstrating teamwork, perseverance and outstanding sportsmanship. A particularly special milestone for our year 6 children was celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation, marking an important step in their faith journey. Alongside this, students immersed themselves in engaging novel studies and continued to produce thoughtful, creative and high-quality writing that reflects their growth as learners.

This term has also been one of significant growth for our staff. Our teachers have embraced a range of high-quality professional learning opportunities, strengthening their practice in Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), Writing, and Number Fluency. Through ongoing collaboration and professional learning, our staff continue to refine evidence-based teaching practices that ensure every student is supported to achieve their best academically, socially and emotionally. Their commitment to continuous improvement is reflected in the high-quality learning experiences taking place across every classroom.

As we celebrate another successful term, we thank our students for their curiosity, resilience and willingness to embrace every opportunity. We are equally grateful to our dedicated staff for their passion and commitment, and to our families for their ongoing support and partnership throughout the term.
