A 'Pilgrims of Hope' Prayer
Loving God,
You created all people to be equal.
Yet, throughout the world many are struggling
to find even the most basic things they need:
food, water, safety and education.
In this Year of Jubilee,
when we are called to be pilgrims of hope,
we pray for greater justice.
May we work to ensure that earth is truly a common home for everyone,
shared by all and enjoyed in security.
May we be instruments of your peace

St Roch's Social Justice: Mini Vinnies 'Winter Appeal'
Thank you to our generous and compassionate family community for your donations of winter clothing and blankets!
They have been gratefully received by a local 'St Vincent De Paul' charity shop: "Thank you to St Roch's! Wow! There is so much in these bags! What a great school!"
This week the Year 5/6 'Mini Vinnies' met Breck Hilton who is the President of the 'Glen Iris, St Vincent De Paul' conference. Breck spoke to us about what his role entails and what needs there are in our community. Breck has been a part of the SVDP conference for 8 years and shared how he volunteers his time as part of being 'called to live a christian life'.
The SDVP conference helps people in need in many ways, not only with food, hygiene products and basics to set up a room with, but also with a warm friendly conversation and regular communication/care. Breck works with a group of 12 other volunteers and they would love to see any new mums or dads that would like to help! We are very proud to be a part of this conference and look forward to supporting them with our next initiatives in Term 3 and 4!

- Year 5 Retreat in the City: Tuesday 2nd September
- Year 5/6 Mini Vinnies supports the ‘Malvern Emergency Food Program’.
