Roselea Cup Final

The second leg of the Roselea Cup was held today at lunchtime, and the intensity of the game matched last week’s thrilling 4–4 draw between Flinders and Cook. Both teams fielded their strongest line-ups and delivered a brilliant defensive display.

After regular game time, the score remained locked at 0–0, sending the match into extra time, where the first team to score would claim the Roselea Cup. Each team had to remove one player after every set, which only heightened the excitement for the crowd.

When both sides were down to five players each, Kirin C sealed the championship with a stunning left-foot step, gliding past two defenders before grounding the ball under pressure. It was an unforgettable moment and a well-deserved first Oztag Roselea Cup victory for Flinders, who turned their season around after losing their opening game to Oxley. Congratulations!

A special shoutout goes to Patrick and Miguel from 6S for their outstanding efforts in helping organise this competition. They set up the field, volunteered as linesmen, and displayed excellent sportsmanship while proudly representing their houses. Both Patrick and Miguel have been rewarded with a $5 canteen voucher for their dedication.

Player of the Match was awarded to Karine, who showed remarkable growth as Flinders’ middle and rover. She made smart passing decisions and was rock-solid in defence throughout the game.

Lastly, I’d like to thank all of Roselea’s House Captains. Working alongside you has been an immense pleasure, and I’ll truly miss your leadership and enthusiasm next year when Roselea students once again take the field with passion, pride, and teamwork to lift the Roselea Cup.
