Principal's Message

Mrs Kylie Bryant - Principal

This newsletter I would like to start by thanking the P&C, all the volunteers and the wider community for their support of the Colour Run last week. Despite what was probably the coldest day this time of year and the impending rain that held off just long enough we had an amazing day. The smiles were huge and there was laughter and school spirit in abundance. Special thank you to our enthusiastic, larger-than-life mascots, our MC Sally Han and my brave colleagues who joined me in being slimed. It was a hugely successful day with the community raising $18820.

Getting involved in your child’s school can be highly rewarding for both you and your child, whether it is volunteering in the canteen, on excursions, in classrooms, at our carnivals or being an active member of the P&C. Being involved strengthens your family's connection with the school. If you would like to become more involved, I encourage you to consider becoming an active member of the P&C. The P&C has its Annual General Meeting on 24 November at 7.30 pm, where they will elect new office bearers and begin planning for 2026. It is the perfect time to get more involved!

Last Friday was World Teachers Day and I would like to thank all our teachers for the work they do every day. We are fortunate to have a dedicated team who are passionate about the work they do and who care about our students and their families. We celebrated the day with a staff breakfast and a morning tea put on by our administration and support team. Each teacher was fortunate to be spoiled by the P&C with a lovely bag full of thoughtful gifts.

The school is a hive of activity in the coming weeks with Stage 1 on an excursion today, our Kindergarten Transitions beginning tomorrow and the Epping District Music Festival this coming Thursday. If you have a child in years 3-6, you might be interested in joining us for Interrelate Tricky Talks in week 6, which is a great way to begin some of those challenging puberty talks. Another key event in week 6 is our band information night, an excellent opportunity to find out more about how your child can become a member of the band and develop their musical potential. Remember to check out School Bytes for all the upcoming events and add them in your calendar.

Finally I am delighted to share the outstanding achievement of Chloe from Year 6, who was nominated for this year’s prestigious Langston Award. This award, with its long and respected history, sees local schools nominating their most exceptional Year 6 students to participate. Chloe was invited to present before a panel, delivering a speech and showcasing a special talent. For her performance, Chloe chose to present a beautiful poem written by her grandmother, which held deep personal meaning for her. On the presentation night, each student presented their speeches and talents, and Chloe impressed everyone by reciting her poem flawlessly and without notes, demonstrating exceptional public speaking skills. Although Chloe did not win the Langston Award

this year, we are incredibly proud of her dedication, confidence, and the wonderful effort she put into her presentation.
