Digital learning

– Darren Crawcour, Digital Learning Coordinator

In 2027 there will be some changes to our Digital Learning Policy, which reflect the revised Victorian Department of Education guidelines.

We thank our families for their ongoing support of our successful Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for students in Years 4–6. From 2027, we will transition to a school-provided approach to digital learning in line with the revised guidelines commencing with our Year 4’s.

What’s changing in 2027?

  • Year 4: Students in Year 4 next year will no longer be required to purchase or provide a personal device for use at school.
  • Year 5 and 6: Students will continue to maintain access to and use of personal devices as part of the BYOD program.
  • Personal technology: Existing restrictions on mobile phones, personal audio devices and wearable technology during school hours will remain unchanged.

What does this mean for your family?

Students will continue to have access to the digital devices, technologies and learning resources they need to support their learning during school hours.

We remain committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for all students while supporting our school community through this transition. Further information about classroom arrangements and curriculum planning for 2027 will be shared in the coming weeks.
