Congratulations to Matei (6AB), who has just arrived home from South Korea after representing Australia at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships!

Competing in the Cadet Team (ages 12–14), Matei's team finished 5th in the world out of 36 countries, achieving the highest score ever recorded by Australian cadets at a World Championship.

This is an incredible achievement! We are so proud of you Matei!

Over the school holidays, Max F (2AB) represented the Docklands Icewolves interstate at his first 3-on-3 ice hockey tournament in Coffs Harbour!

Playing 10 games across five days, Max and his team battled their way to the finals, taking home a bronze medal! Congratulations, Max!

It’s fantastic to see our students exploring sports beyond Melbourne’s more popular sporting codes!

Jump Rope for Heart

This term PMPS students are participating in our annual Jump Rope for Heart program. Jump Rope for Heart is one of Australia’s most loved physical activity and fundraising programs. It’s designed to get students skipping to good health as it’s an ideal exercise for healthy hearts, muscles, and bones, while raising funds to help the Heart Foundation fight heart disease.

That’s important because:

  • One in four 5-12-year-old are either overweight or obese
  • 80% of students are not getting the recommended amount of daily physical activity
  • Physical activity makes you less likely to have a heart attack and can help prevent and manage over 20 chronic diseases including some cancers, type 2 diabetes, and depression
  • Heart disease is Australia’s biggest killer.
