Student Wellbeing

From the Co-ordinator of Counselling and Student Health

Last term students who attend the Hang & Help Club made over 20 handmade toys for the dogs at Monika’s Rescues. Monika’s Rescues is an animal shelter that rescues dogs and cats (and other animals) from council pounds and rehomes them to loving owners.

On the last day of school term 3, students Sophia, Luci, Tahlia and Imogen were able to visit Monika’s Rescues to deliver the toys themselves accompanied by staff Kiera Henry and Katie Thomas. They were delightfully rewarded for their efforts with cuddles from new additions to the shelter puppies ‘Copper’ and ‘Todd’. Students were also taken on a guided tour of the shelter.

Hang & Help Club runs on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s during lunch in M10 or M11. Each term the students choose an initiative or charity to support and make handmade gifts they can donate. This club is facilitated by the school counselling team and is open to all students in Years 7-10. Students are welcome to join on a drop-in basis.

The counselling team would like to acknowledge the efforts of all the students who have diligently attended the club each week, spending their lunchtimes helping others.
