We wish to inform you that students in Grades 3-6 will have the opportunity to participate in the world-renowned ICAS competitions this year. This is an optional testing system that Parents are able to purchase online.
What is ICAS?
ICAS is an online academic competition that is designed to assess students’ higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills in English, Mathematics, Science, Writing, Spelling Bee and Digital Technologies.
Each assessment celebrates students’ accomplishments by providing opportunities for
recognition and development. Every student who participates will receive a printed certificate and an online results report. Top performers will be eligible for medals.
The following tests are offered for the following year levels:
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Writing
- Spelling Bee
- Digital Technologies
The ICAS tests will be paid for by the school; it is no charge to families.
Further information about ICAS competitions can be found https://www.icasassessments.com/products-icas/
An email was sent home to families this week with more details and a link to register your child’s interest in the competition.

Last week we welcomed Mr Ray Robinson and the Lions Club members to judge
nine of our Grade 3-6 students who took part in the annual Lions Club Public Speaking Competition.
These students had put in a great amount of work at home writing their speeches and spent time at perfecting them for presentation. We were incredibly proud of everyone's courage and enthusiasm as they presented to the judges.
We would like to congratulate our finalists Angus and Amelia and our runners up Buddy and Maddi. We wish these students all the best as they begin to prepare for the next round of the competition.
The finals will be held at St Patrick's on Sunday the 19th of July.
