The F-2 classes have been working on sequencing activities that show their understanding of the Il piccolo bruco maisazio (The Very Hungry Caterpillar).  It is hard to believe how far the students have come with their ability to recognise Italian words and say them.

The Grade 3 students are working on a board game that includes all instructions in Italian.  Students have been very enthusiastic about this - we will be playing these games in Term 3.

The Grade 4-6 students have produced a brochure that outlines thier favourite holiday destination.  Inside the brochure, the students needed to include:

Destination

Transport

Activities

Weather

Food

The brochure was all to be written in Italian from what they had learnt during the term

SPORT

The 1 & 2 classes were fortunate to have Emma from Netball Victoria take them for Sport this week.  It beautifully complemented our FMS topics of running and throwing, and the students got to put their fresh skills to use in some new fun games.

Netball this week was cold, wet and very foggy! However, the student's enthusiasm wasn't to be dampened. Netball coach, Emma, continued to extend on their skills - last week focused on the court positions and this week was defensive strategies. The students have learned so much under Emma's guidance, and it has been a pleasure to have her onsite sharing her expertise.

ART

In Art this fortnight we have turned our attention to Indigenous Art.  We've read dreamtime stories, and discussed the sorts of resources that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples would have had available to them thousands of years ago.  We also marvelled at the durability of rock art that is featured in several remote sites across our Country.

The Senior students focused on various symbols and meaning-making featured in cultural Art, while the juniors made brightly coloured birds which were inspired by the dreamtime story; 'How the Birds got their Colours'.

DIGITECH

This week in DigiTech, students in Foundation and 1/2 have experimented with Chrome Music Lab! They explored how sound can be represented in images using digital tools - using the skills they have learned in DigiTech to access and navigate through the tools. They scanned QR codes, tapped and used the touch screen, used common navigation icons to move to different parts of the website and much more.
