AusAlert test on Monday
A reminder that the AusAlert system will be tested nationwide on Monday 27 July at 2.00 pm. Most mobile phones, as well as some smartwatches and tablets, will vibrate and play a siren-like sound for approximately 10 seconds. As this will occur while the students are at school, we will be speaking briefly about the test before it occurs to help prepare and reassure students. We encourage families also to have a quick chat with your children over the weekend so they will know what to expect which will help avoid any unnecessary worry or uncertainty. Please reassure your child that this is only a test and no action is required. If you have concerns about how your child may react to the AusAlert test, please reach out to their classroom teachers prior to the event taking place.
Division Netball
After an undefeated season of netball during Term 2 ISS, ten students qualified to compete at the Division Championships on July 20th. This was held at Narrandjeri Stadium in Thornbury. They played three games on the day, winning one and unfortunately losing two so this means they won’t progress regionals this year.
The students must be congratulated as this was a new sport for most of the team. The individual improvement of players as well as their on court teamwork was amazing!
The willingness to listen and learn as well as play different positions on court was noted by Miss v. We are enormously proud of our students for their efforts leading up to the day! Thank you to the parents who took time out of their day to drive students to and from. Also, a big thank you to Thomas, Claudia and Renae for their assistance with scoring.
I’m keeping this week’s news short and sweet after my big Compass News feed earlier in the week! I hope you all enjoy the good weather that is expected on Sunday which looks like it will be as nice as last weekend!
