Deputy Principal's Message

Dear Families,
Well the weather seems to be affecting everything we do at the moment!
Sports Day
It was great to finally enjoy Sports Day on Monday - attempt number #3. Thanks so much to Sue Tobin and the Sports Captains - your perseverence shone through and it was a lovely sunny day, full of joy and fun. Congratulations to Blue House on winning the Spirit Award and to Green for winning the Sports House Award.
Movie Night & Now Fun Food Days!
Well the weather certainly struck on Friday night! We were setting up the marquees and with the wind blowing, it was simply becoming dangerous, as the gusts were in the levels of High Winds and Gales. To hold the marquee down, took 4 people, so we made the difficult decision to cancel. Thank you so much to the parents who were helping to set up and thank you to those of you who sent such lovely supportive messages to them, understanding the seriousness of the situation and thanking them for their efforts. None of these events just happen, they take time to plan, organise, setup, pack up and that is beyond the time of the actual event.
As a result of cancelling we have hot dogs, rolls, popcorn and gelati leftover, that will spoil by next year. So on Tuesday next week, 2nd December we will be selling a bowl of popcorn or a cup of gelati for a dollar. Cash only sales on the day. An nForma will be sent out with more information.
On Tuesday 9th December we will have a Hot Dog Day. Orders will be made in the usual way through CDF pay and a paper notice. This will be all set up next week.
Junior Faith Night
Last Tuesday evening we had a fun night in our PJs at the Junior Family Faith Night. Our theme was 'Hospitality' and our last task was around how we can make room for Jesus in our lives - a thought worth pondering for us all. Thank you to those families who attended.
KMart Christmas Carols
It was my absolute pleasure to join with the COHR Redeemers - our school choir, to launch the KMart Giving Tree at Chadstone. They were simply amazing and we are so proud of the confident way they brought Christmas joy to all those who listened. Thanks to Mrs Hutchings for leading our choir, your energy is infectious! Merry Christmas!
