From the Principal

Term 3 is well underway, and it's been an exciting and energising start to the second half of the year.

I'm very excited to share with you that our much-anticipated Stage 2 build is progressing as planned, with construction most likely set to begin in Term 4 of this year. This project marks a significant milestone in our new school's transformation, as we welcome our new Administration Block which will include a dedicated Senior School Library and Wellbeing facilities as well as a staff room and administration main office space. Substantial learning spaces and sporting facilities for up to 1400 students will also be provided. 

We are looking forward to these Stage 2 facilities that will support modern, high-quality learning environments for our students and staff from Years 7 to 12. We anticipate these works to be finalised well before the start of the 2027 school year.

As always, I'm proud of the strong sense of community and purpose that defines Yarrabing. Thank you for your ongoing support and your patience, as we continue to grow and evolve together step by step.

Your feedback is important to us- 2025 Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting the annual Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey and is seeking your feedback. Families were sent their individual access pin in an email last week to allow for your response to be accessed. 

The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 18 August and Friday 19 September.

A random sample of families have been invited to participate in the survey.

The survey is conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

The online survey is available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents/caregivers/guardians who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to the school directly for survey guides in your language.

School Review- Report is in the process of being finalised

The College has completed a very successful review process in the last month which has highlighted its many successes and has also provided a plan to guide its work over the next 4 years. Our reviewer, Charmaine Taylor, is in the process of finalising her report which she will provide to School Council at one of our meetings later this year. I will of course notify the school community of the findings.

Year 9 Subject offering for 2026

As soon as we finalise the teaching program and recruiting program for 2026, students and parents will be notified of the course selection process for next year.
