What an incredible semester it's been! Our talented musicians have outdone themselves, bringing their ensemble performances to life with passion and dedication. We're so proud of how students embraced the recording process, using it as a powerful tool for growth and self-reflection.

Watching our students thoughtfully consider questions about teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience has been truly inspiring. Their honest reflections on collaboration, time management, and persistence show remarkable maturity and dedication to their musical journey.

Ensemble Tracker

Our ensemble classes are thriving as they master our comprehensive 10-step song learning journey! From those exciting first listens together to the magic of full rehearsals, students are developing incredible musical skills. It's wonderful to see them progress from learning individual parts to creating beautiful, unified performances filled with expression and dynamic contrast.

Year 7 Music Theory: Digital Learning Success

Our Year 7 students are embracing technology beautifully, using their tablets and stylus with confidence as they explore their digital eBooks. Their mastery of note and rest values, staff notation, and rhythm dictation is impressive, and their enthusiasm for learning these fundamental skills shines through in every lesson.

Year 7 Computer Music: Creative Innovation

Congratulations to our computer music students who've successfully completed Task 1! Their creativity in developing form and structure skills, track management, and sound organisation has been outstanding. We're excited for the upcoming interactive learning experiences including Peer Detectives, Expert Café, and Concept Speed Dating - these collaborative activities always bring out the best in our students!

Year 8 Film Music: Cinematic Composers in Action

Our Year 8 film music students are becoming true cinematic artists! Their exploration of underscoring, motifs, Mickey Mousing, ostinato, leitmotifs, and the fascinating world of diegetic and non-diegetic music has been captivating to observe.

Special shoutout to 8G for their fantastic hands-on leitmotif work - hearing those famous film melodies come alive on piano and guitar was absolutely magical! This week marks an exciting milestone as all Year 8 students begin their Film Music KLT projects, where they'll craft their own original film scores. We can't wait to see their creative visions come to life through storyboards and compositional techniques!
