ANZAC Ceremony

The College ANZAC Ceremony was held of Friday the 24th of May. Members from the Charlton RSL joined us for the service. Bill Freeman addressed those present, reminding us that ANZAC Day is the anniversary of when Australian and New Zealand soldiers landed on the beach at Gallipoli in Turkey in April 1915.  He shared with us that the ANZACs forged a reputation for courage, resilience and dedication. At first ANZAC day allowed people to honour the original ANZACs who served at Gallipoli. Then it became a day for all Australians and New Zealanders who served in the First World War. Now we honour all people for both countries who have defended our interests and gone to the aid of others. The service giving the College community time to reflect on the peace we enjoy and the sacrifices made to protect it.
