Years F-6

What lovely weather for the beginning of Term 2. If it won’t rain, we might as well be able to enjoy the outside, and the students have certainly been enjoying being outside and what Autumn brings, having plenty of fun in the autumn leaves.
This term is a little more settled allowing our weekly Monday morning assemblies to occur. It is always great to hear the students share things they are learning about. We welcome all families to join us of a Monday morning at 9am.
Aside from regular learning, week 1 saw our F-6 students participate in the College and community ANZAC commemoration ceremonies. A big well done to all our students who spoke at the College ceremony, and to all those who attended an upheld the values of our school at the community service. In week 2 all students were involved in the House Cross Country event. It was wonderful to see many parents, grandparents and siblings joining us for this event. I would like to congratulate all our students on their efforts; everyone did their absolute best.
Next week students in Years 3 to 6 will head over to Boort to participate in the Winter Sports carnival where students will participate in Aussie Rules Football, Netball, Minkey, Newcomb, Soccer and Teeball. Parents of students in these year levels please keep an eye out for information and permission via compass. The Mother’s Day fete will take place on Friday morning. Students will need to purchase tokens prior. Please refer to the Principal section of the bulletin for more information on this.

Molly: Dragons vs Wolves: eye of the dragon by Glenn Dakin.
This is a book of adventure and mystery. Dark forces are at work in Lyricon’s Reak. Lyricon and the dragons are searching for an ancient artefact to gain incredible power, and while the dragons may seem unstoppable the wolves bind their time in the hidden realm of Ungoriana.
Current Affair:
Our first current affair report was delivered by Noah on Monday.
Noah reported on the impact the high fuel prices are having on farmers. Farmers are struggling to deal with increased land tax, rates and tolls. It is important, as we rely on farmers for food. Noah wonders how the farmers really feel about it?
