2026 Book Week – What a Celebration!
What an exciting Book Week we had last week. I don’t know who had more fun, the students, the parents or the staff!
Our Book Week Costume Parade was spectacular! The excitement and participation was absolutely amazing. I was very happy that I didn’t have to judge the prize-winners, as everyone made such a wonderful effort! We had such a fantastic variety of characters and costumes, and it was wonderful to see the creativity and imagination of our students and families. I particularly loved the handmade costumes created from recycled materials. They were so clever, creative and innovative. What a wonderful example of how a little imagination can go a long way!
A special thank you to Isaac from Foundation and Oscar from Year 6 for joining Mrs Harkness, Mrs Gathercole and I on stage to bring the live story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears to life. We had so much fun acting out the story, so much so that I went home still wearing my Goldilocks costume and continued acting out the story for my family!

Victorian Parliament Prize
Congratulations to Oscar in Year 6, who was awarded a Finalist Certificate in the Victorian Parliament Prize for his outstanding 90-Second Member Statement speech. Students were challenged to record a 90-second speech about something they were passionate about and present their ideas in a clear and engaging way. His speech stood out among more than 1180 entries from over 180 schools across Victoria, earning him a place in the top 12 finalists. This is an outstanding achievement and a wonderful recognition of Oscar’s confidence, passion and ability as a young speaker. Nelson V and Annyka also participated in the competition, sharing their passions and representing our school with pride.

It’s that special time of year when we celebrate the wonderful dads, grandfathers and special father figures who are part of our school community. Please join us for our Father’s Day Afternoon Tea, followed by a special Father’s Day Assembly.
Friday 4 September – School Hall
Father’s Day Afternoon Tea – 2:30pm - Please collect your child/ren from their learning space before coming to the hall.
Father’s Day Assembly – 3:00pm
We look forward to celebrating with all of our wonderful dads and special father figures!
School Concert Tickets – On Sale Now!
School Concert ticket sales are well underway and tickets are going like hot cakes!
School Concert: Friday 11 September - School Hall: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Each family can purchase a maximum of 2 tickets until Monday 7 September. From Monday 7 September, any remaining tickets will be available for families wishing to purchase additional tickets. See page 5 of the newsletter to purchase tickets.
Our School Concert is always such a special community event and a wonderful opportunity for us all to come together and celebrate the joy of music, dance and performing.
We can’t wait to see our students Sing, Dance and Shine!
Parent Opinion Survey
The annual Parent Opinion Survey is open to all parents and carers, and we would love to hear from you! Thank you to the many parents who have already taken the time to provide us with this valuable feedback. If you haven't had a chance to complete it, the survey will remain open until the end of term - Friday 18th September. Please use the link on Sentral and the PIN code provided to access the survey. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. It helps us understand what we are doing well, identify areas where we can improve, and ensure that the decisions we make reflect the needs of our students and families. If you need any assistance accessing the survey, please see our office staff. The survey is available in 10 additional languages, with supporting guides available in 30 languages. Parents and carers can select their preferred language when they commence the survey.
School Hats
A reminder that all students are required to wear their school hat every day. This is an important part of our SunSmart policy and helps us keep our students safe while they are outdoors. Thank you to all the students and families who have been following this requirement. If your child needs a school hat, please see the office staff, we have plenty available for purchase. Please remember to clearly write your child’s name on their hat to help prevent hats from being misplaced.
The last day of Term 3 is Friday 18th September and students will be dismissed at 2.30pm.
