Dear Families,

Did you know that you can experience a fabulous day out at State Library Victoria these Term 3 school holidays? If you are looking for something that is fun, creative and inspiring, why not take the children into Melbourne and immerse them in the wonderful world of books, stories and imagination? The State Library Victoria is offering its Tales We Treasure school holiday program, celebrating the stories, people, places and special moments that we treasure.

🏠 CREATE • IMAGINE • DISCOVER

Pocket House📅 19 September – 4 October⏰ 1.00–4.00pm daily👧🧒 Ages 5–12

Children can create their very own miniature house and fill it with the people, places and things they treasure. This hands-on activity combines craft, storytelling and imagination — perfect for budding authors and illustrators!

🎵 STORIES COME TO LIFE!

Songs & Storytelling with Josh Pyke📅 22 & 23 September⏰ 12.30–1.15pm👧🧒 Ages 4–10

Join much-loved Australian musician and author Josh Pyke for an entertaining session of storytelling, live music and interactive fun inspired by his book These Long-Loved Things.

🌿 GET CREATIVE!

Wild Meadow Workshop with Jane Godwin & Anna Walker📅 30 September⏰ 10.30–11.30am👧🧒 Ages 5–12

Children can join award-winning author Jane Godwin and illustrator Anna Walker to create their own wild meadow, inspired by the wonderful world of picture books.

📖 AND OF COURSE… STORYTIME!

Storytime with Jane Godwin & Anna Walker📅 30 September⏰ 12.15–12.45pm👧🧒 Ages 3–8

Settle in and enjoy a special Storytime with Jane Godwin and Anna Walker as they celebrate their 10th book collaboration.

Even if you don't book one of the special holiday activities, make sure you visit the Pauline Gandel Children’s Quarter. With thousands of children’s books, cosy reading spaces, toys and opportunities for play and discovery, it is the perfect place to spend some time together.
