Monash University will be hosting morel Discover Monash events or activities over the coming weeks.  Unless specified online**, these will be face-to-face events.

 

A number of events will take place from August to November, and students are encouraged to register early.

 VCE Summer Tutoring

“Prepare for the academic year and beyond with VCE Summer Tutoring! We deliver inclusive and valuable academic support to VCE students, no matter their background.

 

At our program from 11-22 January 2027, students can:

 

- Engage in academic classes and 1-1 tutoring from passionate tutors

- Join a community of like-minded students as they tackle fun activities

- Learn more about University study from supportive older peers

 

Students can apply at the link below before 1 October 2026, however we can consider applications beyond this deadline as well: https://forms.gle/obreVAoVAKdx5DiM7.

 

Bursaries and travel subsidies are available to students who would otherwise be unable to access the program.

Tips for Writing Your Cover Letter

Your cover letter is an opportunity for you to highlight areas that would make you a great fit for the job. It should be no more that a page in length, explain how your ability to do the job aligns wit the company goal. It will show you have researched the company and make you stand out from other applicants.

 

Checklist – 

  1. Personal Details – Name, address, phone number, and email address. 
  2. Salutation – Date and name of contact person
  3. Introduction – Who you are, why you are wirting and what you know about the company 
  4. Body paragrahs – do not just repeat information on resume
    1. How your expereince, interests and qualifications relate to the job requirements
    2. Your accomplishments
    3. Your career goals and motivations
  5. Closing statement- Restates your suitability, refers to your resume, thanks the addressee for this time and consideration, and notes interest in an interview.
