Our Year 1 and 2 artists have been busy exploring the wonderful world of colour and shape! Students have been learning about the three primary colours — red, yellow and blue — and investigating what happens when these colours are mixed together to create new colours.
Students have also been exploring the difference between warm and cool colours, thinking about how colours can make us feel and how artists can use colour to create different effects in their artwork.
To put their learning into practice, students have created artworks using overlapping circles, made by printing cylinders into black paint. They have carefully considered the placement and repetition of their circles, creating interesting patterns and shapes as the forms overlap.
It has been wonderful to see our young artists experiment, make discoveries and build their confidence as they develop their understanding of the elements of art. We are looking forward to seeing where their creativity takes them next!

Our Year 3 and Year 4 students have been working incredibly hard in preparation for their upcoming Soiree! Over the past few weeks, students have been learning dances, songs, rhythms and timing, while developing their confidence and performance skills.
Behind every performance is lots of practice, teamwork and perseverance. Our students have been demonstrating our Karoo Values of Kindness, Tenacity and Personal Excellence as they support one another, keep trying when things are challenging and strive to do their very best.
There has been plenty of energy, laughter and excitement during rehearsals, and our students are becoming more confident as they bring all of the different elements of the performance together.
They are now counting down the days and can’t wait to share their hard work, creativity and enthusiasm with their families!
We look forward to welcoming our families to the Year 3 & 4 Soiree on Tuesday, 1 September, where our students will have the opportunity to shine and celebrate everything they have achieved.
