Parents and guardians would have received an email from me last week communicating that Meagan Loane, our Director of Boarding and International Enrolments, will soon conclude her time at Marist as she takes up an exciting new opportunity in corporate sales. While we are naturally saddened to see Meagan leave, we are immensely grateful for the outstanding contribution she has made to our boarding community. Over recent years, Meagan has played a pivotal role in welcoming a large number of families and students to Marist, helping them begin their journey with confidence and a sense of belonging. Her deep understanding of the College, combined with her genuine care for people, has made a lasting difference to many.
Meagan has been a passionate ambassador for Marist Boarding, sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge with prospective families from across Australia and overseas. She has a remarkable gift for building relationships and making people feel valued and welcome. Whether guiding families through the enrolment process, representing the College in regional communities, or supporting students as they settled into boarding life, Meagan approached every aspect of her role with warmth, professionalism and unwavering dedication.
On a personal note, it has been a privilege to work alongside Meagan. Her energy, positivity and sense of humour have brought great joy to our workplace. She has a wonderful ability to connect with others and brighten even the busiest of days. Meagan’s departure will be felt by many, particularly the students and families whose Marist journey she helped begin. I’m sure Meagan will excel in her new role and we wish her every happiness and success going forward. On behalf of the Marist Boarding community, I would like to sincerely thank Meagan for her outstanding service, commitment and contribution to the College.
As we enter Week 4 of the final school term, life is getting quite busy for the boarders. With regard to school work, our Senior Academic Supervisor and Boarding Tutors are monitoring upcoming academic assessment deadlines, ensuring that targeted academic support is available to boys as demand increases throughout the term. With sport, there are a number of pre-season training sessions for cricket, AFL and volleyball which is helping the boys stay active and competitive. There was a special dinner for all the Year 12 boarders last Thursday night and this Thursday we have a special event for our Year 11s with their semi-formal. We are also hoping for a dry weekend coming up so that we can take the boarders down to Wet and Wild on Sunday.
Term 4 is a short but busy term, and we are working closely with our boarders to help them navigate this demanding period and achieve their best possible outcomes.
