National Schools Tree Day

Our students proudly participated in National Schools Tree Day, helping to enhance our school environment while learning about the importance of native plants and sustainability.

This year, each class planted a native ground cover along the back of the Senior Building, with the ground covers consisting of a mix of Dichondra and Myoporum. In addition, each year level planted a Correa shrub, adding colour, texture and valuable habitat for local wildlife.

The planting day provided students with a hands-on opportunity to care for their school grounds and learn about the role native plants play in supporting biodiversity. By choosing Australian native species, we are creating a low-maintenance, environmentally friendly garden that will thrive in our local conditions and provide food and shelter for birds, insects and other wildlife.

We look forward to watching these plants establish and grow, creating a beautiful green space for our school community to enjoy for years to come.
