Dear St FX Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 9! Thank you for a wonderful term and a fantastic start to our school year. We’ve all earned a break and some holiday fun.

Student Personal Plan Interviews

Our Parent meetings to catch up with Personal Plans for students were delayed this term as we navigate a new recording system in Compass. Our parents will receive a compass notification today inviting them to come in for a 15 minute chat regarding their child’s Personal Plan. These will occur in Week 10 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (unless otherwise organised with the classroom teacher.)

Easter Events - Thursday Week 10

To celebrate a cracking start to the year and our wonderful families and school, I would like to invite everyone to attend our special activities on the last day of school.

12:00pm  -  Principal’s Assembly

Our “Principal Living Well Learning Well Awards” will be handed out at a special assembly on Thursday in Week 10. In addition our students are invited to bring along their best Easter Hat creation and join our Easter Hat Parade. There may even be a few tunes and chocolate eggs handed out too!

1:00pm  -  Lunch on the Lawn

You are invited to enjoy a picnic lunch at 1:00pm on the lawn with your family and children. While there will be some seating provided, you may wish to eat “picnic style” so please feel free to BYO blanket and lunch.

1:20pm  -  Teachers Vs Students Touch Football

Mr Rottger and Mrs Promnitz are organising our annual Teachers Vs Students Touch Football game. This is always fun and full of shenanigans!

Parents and Friends (P & F Committee)

Our newly appointed P & F Committee is keen to get going! They are planning fun events that are both community and fundraising based. If you are keen to help with a specific event, please contact the school or Mel O’Connor directly.

Suggestions for fundraising events are as follows: Mother’s Day Stall, Movie night, Father’s Day Stall, Trivia night (adults) and a Foam Party (students), tea towel printing and seed orders.

Spiritual Life

Our Year 2 Students will take a big step in their faith journey this week as they prepare for the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. All parents and friends are welcome to attend as Fr John will join with our parishioners to offer the community reconciliation as well.

Fr John celebrated Mass with our whole school to honour St Joseph the father of Jesus Christ. He reminded us of the importance of family and supporting one another. It’s wonderful to be able tocelebrate as a whole school and listen to the messages of the Gospel.

In addition we would like to invite all our parents to attend our short recounts of Holy Week next week. These are always beautifully prepared and give a wonderful recount of the events leading up to Jesus' crucifixion. Pease see our school calendar for dates and times.

Holiday Message

We wish all our families an enjoyable and safe holiday period. For those families travelling away during the break, I hope you experience a safe journey to your holiday destinations. Holidays are a wonderful time for students (and their families) to rest, recharge and enjoy doing things at a slower pace. We look forward to seeing you back at school for Term 2 on Wednesday 22nd April.

I would especially like to thank our staff for their sustained enthusiasm and energy throughout this term. Their tireless efforts to ensure our students are provided with unique learning opportunities whilst ensuring student well-being is at the forefront, never wanes. We are so blessed to have such dedicated teachers at St Francis Xavier’s.

May God bless you,

Mrs Michelle O’Connor
