Swimming

Oberon High School held our Swimming Carnival on 16th February. The weather was perfect, which set the stage for an amazing day. With blue skies, plenty of house spirit, and lots of friendly competition, students dove into the events with enthusiasm and energy, making it a day to remember. The poolside atmosphere was buzzing with cheers, music, and colour as students gave their all to every racel, whether competing for points or simply having fun. Congratulations to Greeves House, who took out the overall win after a day of strong performances and teamwork.

Age group champions were as follows:

• 12–13 Years: Florence Parfitt & Kai Primmer
• 14 Years: Charlotte Allen & Seth Freestone
• 15 Years: Susana Kunaulu & Luke Gilbert
• 16 Years: Taryn Aldred & Matthew Gilbert
• 17 Years: Jade Frampton & Blake Armistead

• 18–20 Years: Isla Hassett & Bart Guijt

   

A special shoutout goes to Matthew Gilbert, who smashed the 16m Butterfly record with an impressive time of 31.87 seconds, and to Taryn Aldred, who dominated the pool by breaking records in all four 50m events for 16 year old females:

• Butterfly – 32.14s
• Freestyle – 35.55s
• Breaststroke – 39.18s
• Backstroke – 40.24s

Congratulations to all students who participated in the swimming carnival.  There was a fantastic celebration of school spirit, sportsmanship, and effort on display.
