Saffron's Lifesaving Achievement
Congratulations to Year 10 student Saffron M, who played a key role in securing a brand-new Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) for Mentone Life Saving Club!
Saffron submitted the winning entry as part of an initiative by Ampol and Surf Life Saving Australia, which saw just 12 clubs across Australia awarded a new IRB.
A dedicated volunteer and former Nipper, Saffron is a youth leader and emerging IRB competitor who completed more than 100 patrol hours during the 2025/26 season. She was also recognised as the club's Most Outstanding Bronze Medallist for 2025/26.
Saffron recently travelled to the Gold Coast to officially receive the new rescue boat alongside a fellow club member.
A fantastic achievement and a wonderful example of Saffron's commitment to lifesaving and her local community. Well done, Saffron!
