To conclude our Rolling Challenge students participate in presentations to defend their chosen object as the ultimate Rolling Champion. Importantly, students learned that the “best” object was not always the one that travelled the furthest. Many groups used thoughtful scientific arguments to explain why an object might be more consistent, stable, or predictable, demonstrating a deeper understanding of how forces such as friction, shape, and surface affect movement.

Year 3 and 4  students began a new unit on temperature by investigating whether different materials are actually different temperatures or just feel different. Using thermometers, they discovered that materials like metal and wood can feel colder or warmer even when they are the same temperature. This led to great discussions about why scientists rely on tools rather than just their senses.
