On Wednesday 9th October, students from Gisborne Secondary College participated in the Western Metropolitan Region Athletics and Moonee Ponds Athletics Centre. They represented not only Gisborne Secondary College, but Western Ranges Division in a breadth of events including long and triple jump, 400 meters, 800meters 1500 meter, 3000 meters and Javelin. 

 

All competitors put their best effort forward in what is become a very competitive event. Isabelle ran well in her 800m meters to come first by 10 meters while in her 1500 meters, she put in a more than dominant performance having the finishing straight to herself in the end.  

 

Other medallists included Lily who placed 3rd in her Javelin, but the play of the day has to be Tayla placing first and earning gold in her Javelin event. 

Western Ranges Division Basketball is becoming a very completive day in all age groups and on Monday 12th, Gisborne Secondary College’s year 7 boys and girls team had their competition. Both teams played their best but didn’t make it through to the next round.

Monday 21st October – State Athletics 

Thursday 24th October – Year 7 Volleyball 

Tuesday 29th October – Intermediate Boys and Girls Cricket Region Finals
