Year 7 Purle Camp

On Monday, we headed to year 7 camp at the famous Tanybryn.

On the first day we got in the bus and headed to the Barwon Reservoir in Forrest. Here we had some food and went on a little walk looking at the Reservoir and where all of our water comes from. After this, we headed to Stevenson’s Falls and saw a beautiful waterfall and part of the Red Wood Forest. It was pretty rainy so we went to camp and had some free time together. For dinner that night we had barbeque with burgers and sausages! It was yummy!! 

After dinner, we got ready for a movie night. The teachers set up the main hall and we watched the Lorax, we had popcorn (which was a little burnt) and then headed to bed. 

On Tuesday, we all got up and the teachers had made us pancakes! We got ready to go to Apollo Bay. First, we went to Maites Rest rainforest walk and then headed to the Marina where we saw a baby stingray and a school of fish, then we headed along the beach for a little walk. We went for lunch at George’s where we could choose between flake and chips or nuggets and chips, then went for some free time for shopping!! Soon after that we went to Mariners lookout that had a beautiful view! After that we went back to camp were everyone got ready for dinner which we had wood fired pizza (thanks Mr Mitchell for cooking our pizzas). After dinner we all sat around the fire and roasted marshmallows, then we went for a night walk where we saw some really cool glow worms.

The last day we all woke up early to have breakfast and pack our bags. Our destination for today was Lorne for our surfing lesson. In the bus we were all singing along to some of our favourite songs. When we got to surfing, we had a quick safety briefing and then got right into surfing. Everyone did a great job but soon enough it was time to leave so we all got changed and had salad rolls and slice for lunch. We got on the bus and went home. Goodbye Tanybryn!
