Confirmation

Congratualations to Vy, Lucy, Clem, Vinhson, Tie, Kyla, Serena, Edith and Nami. They will be making the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday night at St Patrisk's Cathedral.

Last night we had our Confirmation Family Faith Night. It was a wonderful evening with many of the parents and sponsors joining our candidates.

Ms Jenny spoke about what a the Sacrament is:

A sacrament is when God gives us a special grace. It is an outward sign of an inner grace, a sign that God is active in our lives. Grace is a gift from God, and these gifts from God (or graces) help us to deepen our relationship with God and each other.

We also unpacked confirmation:

Our students' confirmation will seal them as a member of the Body of Christ, the Church. The grace of Confirmation will strengthen them and activate in them the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Candidates will be anointed with oil and the sign of the cross will be traced on your forehead (an outward sign of the inner grace of the gifts of the Holy Spirit). This anointing also symbolises the fact that they have been chosen by God to be God’s witness in the world and are stirred to action to use their gift for the betterment of their community and ultimately the world.

We look forward to celebrating with our candidates and their families and sponsors, on Tuesday evening.
