Catholic Identity

Mercy Prayer

We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have  served at St. Mary’s.

It is through their vision,  determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.

We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.

NEW NEWS!

A number of our Grade 5 students participated in a Caritas Just Leadership Day on Tuesday, organised by Caritas Australia and led by Kerry Stone, who works for Caritas and lives in Numurkah.

The students participated in a number of social justice activities and learnt about what social justice means and should look like in our world, as well as focussing on the Catholic Social Teachings.

We look forward to hearing more from these students about this day and seeing their experiences in action as they continue to educate and lead others in 2024 as members of our Grade Six leadership teams.

REMINDER NEWS!

Each year, St. Mary’s School supports the St. Vinnie’s Christmas Giving Tree. To raise funds for gifts, the Grade Six Social Justice Team will be selling Zooper Doopers each Thursday for the next three weeks at 50 cents each. The money collected will be divided amongst the Social Justice Team members, who will then shop for gifts to go under our Giving Tree.

So far, we have raised over $180.

Donations of gifts for the St. Vinnie’s Giving Tree are now being called for so if you are able to support this appeal, please send along any NEW toys and books to be placed under our Giving Tree in the Office.
