PrepNew - Mr Butts... You have been Slimed!
What a good sport!
New - Color Run
Our very first Colour Run was a huge success.
There was so much excitement from the students and they had so many laughs and smiles as they moved through the activities, with the color spray proving most popular. All reports suggest we should run it again!
The highlight of the day was the Sliming of Mr Butts and him falling off his chair!!! Along with Mr Prestons revenge on P&F President Vanessa Williams, even turning her hair blue...
We extended an invitation to our wider community to join in the fun at the Colour Run. Local business owner & Mooroopna Cats Football Coach Trent Freer come down in his lunch break to have some of his footy players seek revenge with some buckets over his head!
Senior Constable Mitchell Bull joined us from Victoria Police and was a real highlight helping our kids get wet & colourful. Not missing out on the fun, Mitchell raced some of our students through the Slip & Slide!
NEW - Grade 1/2 Color Run Re-Count Writing
The Colour Run
After recess at 11:45am we went to John Gray oval to do the colour run. The obstacles were the slippery slide, cold buckets of water, super soakers, hoops, hurdles, tyres, hopscotch, stay in the line and powder paint. I was the only one with a skirt. Everyone flinched while getting squirted. As we were waiting for our turn we went over to the silent disco tent. Some of us got squirted by the police there. Soon it was our turn. I started at the hurdles and sprinted across stuff. At the slippery slide I nearly slid all the all the way to the end. I did four laps. At the end I wanted to do it again. Charlotte
The Colour Fun Run
After recess, yesterday the whole of St Mary’s went to John Gray oval where the colour funrun was held. My feet got tired because of the walking. When we got there I saw police who were holding water guns! Then, Mrs Dowling took us to the silent disco, when I put the headphones on, I went crazy! After that, 1/2 FD did the colour run. I got all wet and coloured. Next we got icy-poles. Jessica

The Colour Run
Yesterday people at St Mary’s school went to an oval to do a colour run at 11:45am after recess. When we got there we had to wait for about ten minutes until our first activity began. Our first activity was a silent disco and we had to wear headphones to listen to the music. The songs we listened to were ‘It’s Time for Africa’ (Waka Waka), ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ and ‘Dance Monkey.’ Then we did the run. The obstacles were hurdles, hoops, tyres, a slippery slide and we got squirted with water super soakers and squirted with powder paint. I loved the colour run and I wish I can do it again. Nate B
Colour Fun Run
Yesterday was the colour fun run. I loved it. I did six laps and so did Boston. We wore white t-shirts. My favourite obstacle was the slippery slide and getting colourful. There were lots more obstacles like hoops, hurdles and tyres. When we were finished we got icy-poles. After everyone ran, Mr Butts got slimed. I want to have another colour run next year. Zac

New - Social Justice
As members of the Social Justice Team, it is important for us to promote fairness for all, because this is what Social Justice means.
Over these last few weeks of school, we invite everyone in our school community to focus on performing random acts of kindness.
Some of these random acts of kindness could be:
- saying hello to everyone that you see as you walk to your classroom in the morning.
- inviting someone that you don’t usually play with into your game.
- stopping yourself before you say something nasty to another student.
- thanking a teacher for teaching you something new.
- being an upstander and stepping in if it is safe to do so to stop someone from being unsafe or disrespectful to others.
The Preps learnt a beautiful song about kindness and they shared their rendition of this song with the school at Assembly on Monday.
