MURDOCH UNIVERSITY – LAW

Murdoch Law Start - alternative entry workshop:  6 December

Law Start is an alternative admission pathway that allows students entry into an undergraduate law degree outside of traditional requirements. Students need to be excelling in one or more ATAR subjects with a strong focus on essay writing and communication to be eligible.

This pathway involves a half-day workshop, including a written assessment. The written assessment tests your skills and ability for studying law and is used as a basis for admission, instead of your overall ATAR score or selection rank.

If you successfully complete the course and meet all eligibility requirements, you will receive an offer to study a Bachelor of Laws or a combined Law degree at Murdoch University.

Details:  Law Start

AgCAREERSTART Gap-Year Program

Keen for a gap year with purpose? The 2026 AgCAREERSTART program has opened! Get ready to learn, work, and explore life on the land.

What It’s All About?

If you’re after a hands-on, meaningful way to spend a year after school, AgCAREERSTART could be the perfect fit. This national gap-year program connects young Australians with full-time paid work on farms across the country - no experience needed! You’ll gain real-world skills, take part in industry events, and receive a Training and Engagement Bursary to help build your knowledge and confidence along the way.

What’s Included

Supported by the National Farmers’ Federation, AgCAREERSTART offers:

  • Placements in industries like cattle, grains, dairy and horticulture.
  • Participants spend 10–12 months working full time on a host farm, gaining real-world experience while earning a wage.
  • Alongside on-the-job training, you’ll complete a farm safety induction, attend industry events and access mentoring and support throughout the program.

Key Dates for 2026 Intake

Applications open: 24 November 2025

Applications close: 9 January 2026.

Once applications close, participants and host farms will be matched in early 2026, with placements beginning from March 2026. Applicants must be aged 18–25 at the time of placement and have the right to work in Australia.

How To Get Started

To apply, you’ll need to submit a short-written statement or video about why you’d like to join, along with a resume and a referee contact.

It’s a great way to develop independence, discover new interests, and experience rural life while being part of a community that keeps Australia growing. Find out more and apply at agcareerstart.com.au.
